SUMMARY

Mutanda Mining Sarl (MUMI), one of the world’s leading copper and cobalt producers based near Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of Congo, is seeking an accomplished Senior Manager – Organizational Effectiveness & Development (OE&D) to join its leadership team. This strategic role, based at MUMI’s operational headquarters approximately 42 km from Kolwezi, offers a unique opportunity to shape the organization’s performance, culture, and leadership capabilities within one of Africa’s most significant mining operations.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Senior Manager OE&D, you will play a central role in driving organizational performance, capability, and transformation across MUMI. Reporting to the GM–HR and partnering closely with Regional HR Excellence, you’ll lead initiatives that enhance workforce effectiveness, leadership strength, and employee engagement while accelerating the company’s localization and safety leadership agendas. This is a highly influential role focused on embedding a high-performance, inclusive, and learning-oriented culture across all operations.


JOB DEFINITION

• Lead organization design projects to improve structures, spans of control, role clarity, and decision-making efficiency

• Drive and implement structured change management programs to ensure smooth business transformation

• Develop and execute leadership capability frameworks and tailored learning programs

• Oversee talent management, succession planning, and localization initiatives

• Align workforce planning with business and financial forecasts to optimize staffing levels

• Translate employee engagement and culture survey insights into actionable initiatives

• Partner with HSE to embed strong safety leadership behaviors across all organizational levels

• Build and maintain OE&D analytics dashboards to track organizational health, leadership development, and succession metrics

• Coach leaders and teams to foster collaboration, agility, and resilience in a multicultural environment

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred)

• 8–12+ years’ experience in OE/OD/HRBP or HR Center of Excellence roles, with 5–7 years in senior leadership positions

• Proven record in organization design, transformation, and leadership development

• Advanced change management expertise (Prosci/ADKAR certification preferred)

• Coaching or psychometric certifications (Hogan, SHL) highly advantageous

• Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills

• Experience managing multi-site or cross-cultural HR programs

• Proficiency in HR analytics and digital HR tools

• Fluent in English and French; Swahili proficiency is an advantage

• Resilient, systems-oriented, and adaptable to complex remote operations
