HME Maintenance Manager

Mutanda Mining Sarl, one of the world’s top copper and cobalt producers based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is seeking a seasoned HME (Heavy Mobile Equipment) Maintenance Manager to join its operations in Lualaba Province at the Ya Mutanda Mine, near Kolwezi. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of Africa’s most advanced open-pit mining and hydrometallurgical operations.

As the HME Maintenance Manager, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and oversee all aspects of heavy mobile equipment maintenance and performance. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring operational reliability, safety, and cost efficiency across the fleet of heavy equipment, light vehicles, and cranes. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives through strategic maintenance planning, performance optimization, and the effective use of data and contractor management systems.

• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities for all HME, light vehicles, and cranes

• Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance schedules

• Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive asset reliability and availability

• Oversee spare parts inventory and ensure cost-effective procurement and utilization

• Supervise and evaluate contractor performance to align with company standards

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational policies

• Leverage CMMS data to enhance maintenance efficiency and decision-making

• Foster a strong culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Maintenance Engineering (or equivalent)

• Minimum of 10 years’ senior-level experience in mining equipment maintenance management

• Demonstrated success in asset management and contractor supervision

• Strong leadership, planning, and strategic decision-making abilities

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Culturally adaptable and effective in a multinational work environment
