Junior Mining Engineer

Galiano Gold Inc., through its subsidiary Asanko Gold in Ghana, is seeking a motivated Junior Mining Engineer to join its multi-pit operation on the Asankrangwa Gold Belt in Ghana (Asankrangwa area, Ghana). This is a great entry-level opportunity on a flagship gold project.

As a Junior Mining Engineer, you’ll collaborate with planning, geology, and survey teams to support safe, efficient, and sustainable open-pit operations. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to drill & blast, pit surveys, and short- to medium-term scheduling while contributing to continuous improvement across the site.

• Assist in developing mine plans and production schedules

• Support drilling, blasting, and pit survey activities

• Analyze production data and track mining progress and KPIs

• Collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and senior engineers on daily priorities

• Contribute to safety initiatives, cost reduction, and productivity gains

• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and shift handover notes

• Use mine planning software to update designs, dig plans, and compliance checks

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or closely related)

• 2+ years’ mining or engineering experience (internships/co-ops advantageous)

• Solid understanding of mine planning workflows and safety standards

• Familiarity with mining software (Surpac/Datamine) is a strong advantage

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and teamwork mindset

• Effective communication and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
