Oriole Resources reports strong new gold hits at Mbe Project, Cameroon
Oriole Resources reports strong new gold intersections at the Mbe Project in Cameroon, extending mineralisation depth as drilling nears completion.
Oriole Resources has reported a new set of highly encouraging gold assay results from its ongoing diamond drilling campaign at the MB01-N target within the Mbe Gold Project in Cameroon. These latest results continue to reinforce the geological strength of the project, highlighting both the continuity and depth potential of gold mineralisation as the maiden drilling programme advances steadily toward completion.
The newly released data comes from additional holes drilled as part of the 2,950 metre maiden diamond drilling programme at MB01-N. Assay results from holes MBDD027 to MBDD030 have returned multiple gold intersections, confirming the presence of high grade mineralisation over meaningful widths. The standout intercept was recorded in hole MBDD027, which delivered 16.10 metres grading 2.49 grams per tonne of gold from a depth of 152.40 metres. Within this broader interval, a particularly high grade zone of 1.00 metre grading 28.60 grams per tonne of gold was intersected from 159.50 metres, demonstrating the potential for locally concentrated high value mineralised zones.
Importantly, this latest drilling has extended gold mineralisation at MB01-N to its deepest level so far, reaching approximately 160 metres vertical depth. This represents a significant step forward in understanding the vertical extent of the system and suggests that mineralisation remains open at depth. Such results support the interpretation that MB01-N hosts a robust and potentially large gold system, rather than a shallow or isolated occurrence.
Operationally, the drilling programme continues to progress efficiently. Approximately 70 percent of the planned drilling has now been completed, with over 2,000 metres drilled across ten holes to date. The company reports that drilling is advancing at a good pace, and further assay results are expected to be released over the coming weeks as laboratory analyses are finalised. This steady flow of data is expected to further refine the geological model and help define priority zones for future work.
Looking ahead, drilling at MB01-N is scheduled to conclude later in the first quarter of 2026. Following completion, Oriole Resources plans to prepare a maiden JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate for MB01-N. This new resource would complement the existing 870,000 ounce JORC Resource at the nearby MB01-S deposit, potentially enhancing the overall scale and economic attractiveness of the Mbe Gold Project. If successfully advanced, these developments could strengthen Cameroon’s emerging gold sector, attract further exploration investment, and contribute positively to the country’s mining-driven economic growth.
Mini-Glossary
- Diamond drilling: A drilling method that uses a diamond tipped drill bit to extract cylindrical rock samples, known as core, for detailed geological analysis.
- Gold assay results: Laboratory test results that measure the concentration of gold within rock samples.
- Grams per tonne (g/t): A standard unit used in mining to express the amount of gold contained in one tonne of rock.
- Mineralisation: The process or occurrence of valuable minerals being concentrated in rock formations.
- JORC Resource: A mineral resource estimate reported under the Australasian JORC Code, which sets standards for public reporting of exploration results and mineral resources.
