High Grade Gold Soil Anomalies Boost Exploration Potential at Duékoué Project, Côte d’Ivoire

Oscillate PLC confirms promising gold anomalies at the Duékoué project, boosting copper gold exploration potential in Côte d’Ivoire’s Birimian Terranes.

Oscillate PLC has reported new soil sampling results that significantly enhance the exploration outlook for its Duékoué Molybdenum Copper Project in Côte d’Ivoire. The company has now confirmed the presence of anomalous gold within the project area, suggesting that the mineralisation at Duékoué could be more complex and valuable than previously understood. These findings reinforce the possibility that the project may evolve into a multi commodity discovery, particularly as further work continues to integrate gold into the broader copper focused exploration model.

The latest update is based on 187 resubmitted soil samples that were collected at 20 metre intervals and analysed by ALS Laboratories. Several of these samples returned moderately anomalous gold values, with the highest reading reaching 45 parts per billion. Anomalous gold for the purpose of this programme has been defined as values above 21 parts per billion. Notably, five of the seven samples that exceeded this threshold also displayed elevated copper levels, strengthening the interpretation that the gold is part of the same mineralisation system. This geochemical association suggests the potential for an IOCG style setting, a deposit type characterised by iron oxide enriched systems that can host copper, gold, and other valuable metals.

CEO Robin Birchall highlighted that these positive results demonstrate the effectiveness of applying modern exploration techniques to an area that has seen limited systematic work in the past. The use of detailed soil geochemistry is proving instrumental in mapping mineralised trends and refining drill targets, thereby increasing confidence in the geological model. Importantly, the project is located within the West African Shield, specifically within the highly prospective Birimian Terranes, which are renowned for hosting shear related orogenic gold deposits. This geological setting adds further weight to the potential for meaningful gold mineralisation at Duékoué as exploration advances.

With its favourable location and growing body of positive geochemical indicators, the Duékoué project holds increasing promise for both copper and gold potential. Should ongoing testing support a formal classification of the project as a copper gold system, it would strengthen the economic appeal of the asset and potentially attract greater investor interest. For Côte d’Ivoire and the wider region, successful advancement at Duékoué could reinforce the country’s position as a rising exploration destination within West Africa and contribute to broader growth in the mining sector.

Mini Glossary

  • Anomalous gold A concentration of gold in soil or rock that is higher than normal background levels, indicating potential nearby mineralisation.
  • Parts per billion (ppb) A unit that measures extremely low concentrations of a substance in a sample.
  • IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) system A type of mineral deposit known for hosting copper and gold within iron rich geological environments.
  • Geochemical sampling The process of analysing soil or rock chemistry to detect mineralisation patterns.
  • Birimian Terranes A geological region in West Africa known for its rich gold deposits and major mineral belts.
