Cameo Resources Advances IP Survey, Unlocks Strong Gold Potential at Katoro Property
Cameo Resources advances its IP survey at Tanzania's Katoro Property, revealing strong gold targets and setting the stage for rapid drilling.
Cameo Resources Inc. has reached an important milestone in its exploration campaign at the fully owned Katoro Gold Property in Tanzania. With more than half of its initial Induced Polarization survey now completed, the company is beginning to outline a clearer geological picture of the asset's potential. The early results reveal promising indicators that strengthen confidence in Katoro as an emerging gold target within a well established mining region.
The ongoing survey, carried out by HETAMIS Mineral Services, covers a 19.58 square kilometer area and is being conducted across five designated grids, three of which have already been completed. These grids represent 3.1855 square kilometers of surveyed ground and have produced encouraging datasets. The readings show chargeability values reaching up to 250 millivolts per volt, a level commonly associated with sulphide concentrations that often correlate with gold bearing systems. These geophysical signatures, combined with the structural trends observed, indicate multiple high priority exploration targets distributed across the northern and central zones of the project.
Preliminary interpretation suggests that approximately 65 percent of the property hosts geological structures that are favorable for gold mineralization. These structures include shear zones and deformation corridors, which are key conduits for mineral rich fluids in greenstone belt environments. Notably, the characteristics emerging from the Katoro survey show strong similarities to nearby and well known gold systems, including Tembo Gold and the Buckreef Gold deposit. Such parallels reinforce Cameo Resources' belief that Katoro may hold comparable mineralization potential. The company plans to use the full dataset, expected to be finalized in the coming weeks, to refine and fast track its inaugural drilling program.
From a broader industry perspective, the developments at Katoro could contribute to further strengthening Tanzania's position as a major gold producer. If drilling confirms the emerging targets, the project could support new investment inflows, expand local exploration activity, and add competitive momentum to the East African mining landscape.
