Ariana Resources Begins Drilling at Dokwe Gold Project in Zimbabwe
Ariana Resources starts 4,000m RC drilling at its Dokwe Gold Project in Zimbabwe, aiming to expand its million-ounce gold resource.
Ariana Resources PLC has commenced a new 4,000-metre drilling campaign at its wholly owned Dokwe Gold Project in Zimbabwe, signaling the company’s commitment to expanding its already significant resource base. This new phase of exploration marks a critical step toward unlocking the full potential of the Dokwe deposit, which currently hosts over one million ounces of gold. The project lies within a 12-kilometre-long mineralized corridor that remains largely underexplored, with only 10 percent of its strike length drilled to date, offering substantial potential for future discoveries.
The drilling campaign will consist of 26 reverse circulation (RC) holes targeting four key zones identified through previous soil sampling and geophysical surveys. These targets were prioritized based on geochemical anomalies and structural trends that align with known mineralized zones at Dokwe Central, the project’s core deposit. Ariana expects assay results from the current program before the end of the year, which will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s next exploration and development phases. In parallel, metallurgical sampling at Dokwe Central is being planned to support future feasibility studies and optimize processing parameters for potential production.
Located in one of Zimbabwe’s most prospective gold belts, the Dokwe project represents a cornerstone of Ariana’s growth strategy in southern Africa. The company’s systematic exploration approach aims not only to expand the existing resource but also to delineate new high-grade zones across the underexplored corridor. Managing Director Dr. Kerim Sener emphasized that this program is designed to refine Ariana’s long-term development strategy and position Dokwe among Zimbabwe’s most promising new gold discoveries.
The renewed exploration momentum at Dokwe comes at a time when Zimbabwe’s mining industry is experiencing a resurgence, driven by improved investment sentiment and a global push for diversified gold supply. As more international juniors enter the country’s underexplored greenstone belts, Ariana’s early-mover advantage and growing resource base could make the Dokwe Project a key player in the regional mining revival. The results of this drilling campaign are therefore expected to not only enhance Ariana’s portfolio but also contribute to Zimbabwe’s emerging reputation as a new frontier for African gold exploration.
