Hauling Equipment Operator

Barrick Mining Corporation, a global leader in the mining industry, is hiring a Hauling Equipment Operator to join its world-class North Mara Mine Team in Tarime, Tanzania.

As a Hauling Equipment Operator at Barrick’s North Mara Mine, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting underground mining operations by operating heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently. You’ll be part of a results-driven team that values integrity, accountability, and a commitment to zero harm.

• Operate hauling and heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Conduct thorough equipment pre-start inspections and report any substandard conditions.

• Complete Field Level Risk Assessments and Team-Based Job Safety Analyses before commencing tasks.

• Maintain excellent housekeeping before and after each task.

• Ensure compliance with all PPE and safety requirements.

• Report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions immediately to the Supervisor.

• Communicate progress regularly throughout the shift.

• Strive to achieve and exceed daily production targets without compromising safety.

• Prevent equipment damage through proper operating techniques and care.

• Participate actively in workplace inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ordinary Secondary Education qualification.

• Strong knowledge of underground mining operations.

• Proven expertise in grader operation.

• Basic Ground Control Training certification.

• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s Licence.

• Formal training certificate in Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) operations from VETA or equivalent institution.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in underground mining or heavy equipment operations.

• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

• Experience with Loaders and Excavators in mining or construction environments is an advantage.
